Federico Umberto D'Amato, the protagonist of this documentary, is one of the most ambiguous and sinister figures in the history of the First Italian Republic.
When Ballandi proposed the subject to me, I was immediately intrigued by this man who divided his life between his two greatest passions: espionage and cooking.
Like in a noir novel, Federico Umberto D'Amato was a spy and a gourmet. In this sense, what excited me most was the opportunity to construct a narrative that sought to explain how mastering the tastes and culinary passions of your interlocutors can lead to mastering their minds.

Edoardo Raspelli, a famous food journalist who worked with the great spy, sums up the essence of D'Amato in one sentence: “While he was talking to me about tagliatelle, he was organizing a massacre.”
